I have had the privilege of attending the Great American Beer Festival over the past four years. Many things can become tiresome or lose their appeal with repeated experience. This could never be the case with the GABF! Over the time I had the opportunity to attend I watched this event grow at an unprecedented rate. Now offering over 3,000 beers and boasting 500 domestic breweries, as well as featuring homebrewing submissions. This really does celebrate on a overwhelming level, all that is great about American craft beer! My recommendation is make sure you have a game plan when you enter the convention center as there is so much going on. Have a list of beers and breweries you want to try, and tackle those first so you can really enjoy them. After you have made your checkmarks open yourself up to random discoveries!
The Great American Beer Festival offers more than just beer, it is an experience unlike no other beer festival in the country. Held in Denver, Colorado each year the city of Denver alone is worth the visit. A true beer-centric city with offerings on ever corner. My personal favorites definitely worth visiting are Breckenridge Brewery and Great Divide Brewing Company. Take the time to stop by a truly amazing taproom with an incredible selection: Falling Rock Taphouse. Colorado ranks among the top 5 most craft beer friendly states in the country so you are sure to find something amazing. Moreover, if the craft beer and marijuana in Denver are not enough for you take a drive up to the mountains and enjoy the breathtaking views of the rockies. You’ll find incredible breweries scattered throughout Colorado. Rent a car, take a drive.
So much to do and see will keep you coming back time after time. The Great American Beer Festival in Denver, CO truly is an example of when great people and great beer come together. Cheers!
